There are no ATMs on Great Barrier.
New Zealand Bank account holders should be able to access cash via eftpos from
most retail outlets.
Australian eftpos cards are not accepted as eftpos on the island.
There are no facilities for international visitors to cash travellers cheques
and exchange foreign cash although some retailers have been known to provide
this service, at a considerable cost.

Eftpos is accepted at all shops, restaurants and cafes. Most retailers will also accept visa and
mastercard.
Accommodation >
Most lodges will accept eftpos and credit cards for payment.
